Gemma had great success in her education in Germany with Mr. Siegfried Hofstetter as the leader. She completed the Derby, Solms, and VGP before the age two years old. In conformation classes Gemma has been the V1 female two times and earned additional titles of CACIB, BS, CAC, and Anw. Dt. Ch. VDH. Mr. Hofstetter, considered to be the best leader in Germany, has stated that “Gemma is an excellent dog & does everything correctly!”
The Judges comments from the 2014 Kleemann state:
Water Work – The dog entered the water without reservation and swam 80 meters across an open bay into a distant flood plain filled with reeds, continued to search for another 30 meters. At the beginning her strong desire to find game and forward motion hindered her to find the scent trail but she worked another 60 meters in all directions to push the duck into open water towards the shore line. The dog was too close to take a safe shot and continued to work the scent track another 400 meters before the duck was finally killed. The dog did a correct delivery. The judging team award of 4h was a unanimous decision.
Field work – During six paired searches the dog pointed several hares and pheasants. She honored the other dog one time and showed excellent steadiness to shot ….KS is awarded.
