Bellevue finished tied for third at the 2007 IKP examination out of 198 entries from around the world. Bellevue received a 4h for the field search at the Dr. Kleemann Prüfung.

The following are the judgest comments from the 2008 Dr. Kleeman Prüfung:

Field: The male dog shows from the beginning a convincing search which is coined shaped that by the use of a fine nose and endurance the gallop is adjusted. He points directly in the first search course the scent of partridges that had flown. In the further process of the examination the dog finds two times multiple pheasants which he locates, pulls tight, points, and holds the pheasants firmly. At the pheasants he shows perfect obedience and firing peace. Since the male dog shows a constant and independent search, which is adapted always to the wind and covering in all search courses, independently of the vegetation, this is evaluated as outstanding (4h excellent).

Water: After a little hesitation at the beginning, the male dog searched the bank cover on the complete pond. Also, the male dog, on command, crossed the open water to the opposite bank. During the search for duck the dog is commanded to search the reed mace where he finds the duck and squeezes it out to the open water. The duck hides itself from the dog by diving multiple times. However, finally the duck is caught by the dog at the flat water and brought to the leader with slight hesitation. Firing firmness o.k.

At the Dr. Kleemann Prüfung, leader Thomas Hofstetter was quite pleased with his field performance and Bellevue was rewarded accordingly, receiving a 4h for the field search.

Bellevue finished tied for third in the 2007 IKP. The following are the judge’s comments from the 2007 International Kurzhaar Prüfung:

Field: The male dog showed a very good search directly adjusted to find the game. Pointing in front of the hare and pheasant was likewise very good. The nose was judged with a 4h. The retrieving of feather game from heavy cover was done very well. The firing peace and obedience at the game was very good. Also the relationship with the leader and obedience was very good.

Water: After initial support, the male dog searched for the duck independently and with presentence. When located drove the duck very straight towards the leader. A very good work. Retrieving the duck done very well. Participant for the show search. Prize 1, 136 Points.

In the narrative for the sires page on the DKV web page Mr. Hofstetter writes (translated):

“Bellevue is an intelligent, flexible male dog with good social skills, which knows to adjust itself into the hunting requirements. His good jump, with a fast rational search and best head attitude in conformity with the nose quality is based on his genetic. He shows in the water hardness and the will to find. He has also the hardness on small predators. The male dog was very succeed in many trails to wounded animals like roe deer and wild boars, and he is very concentrated and calm on his work. He is all around the type of a useful dog with high understanding of hunt.”

Bellevue KS vom Hege-Haus was sold to Pat Bottino of Tuckahoe Kennels in New Jersy in April, 2010.

Mr. Siegfreid Hofstetter, considered to be one of if not the best leader in Germany, is Bellevue’s leader (trainer) in conjunction with his son Thomas. Mr. Hofstetter has stated that he feels Bellevue will be one of his best dogs.

Bellevue is a regal male that is a pleasure to handle and hunt over. Armed with an outstanding nose and intense game drive Bellevue will take you to the birds. In the kennel, auto, and house Bellevue is very calm and well mannered. With other dogs Bellevue is a perfect gentleman.
