Atlanta shone at the 2008 Dr. Kleemann Prüfong receiving a perfect score and a 4h for her water search.

The following are the judge’s comments from the 2008 Dr. Kleemann Prüfung:

Field: A strong, substantial dog of the medium size, shows a very far, well-planned and very independent search, which she does almost without commands. The dog takes up each scent momentarily pointing before moving on. One search turns out however somewhat uncontrolled and too far. She stands before the pheasant firmly. When the bird is flushed she remains firm through the shot until released to continue the search. She completed all field work with a score of very good (4’s).

Water: In the water search without the duck she accepts the water briskly and searches the entire pond easily without additional commands from the leader. Clearly the controlling nose work is to be observed by all. This convincing work also the spectator’s acknowledgement brings in a 4h. With the water search with duck she takes up very fast the duck’s swimming trace on the water and follows it into the reeds, finds the duck and presses it to the open water, where the wing strap comes off and the duck escapes. A dead duck is placed in the water and shot. The dog retrieves the duck and returns it to the leader without a problem. Title of KS is received.

Her success at the 2007 IKP was unparalleled, receiving a perfect score and three 4h’s marking here the Claus Kiefer Award for the top dog at the examination out of 198 entries from around the world.

The following are the judge’s comments for the 2007 IKP:

Field: The search of this dog is elegant, in the jump quickly and covers much ground, one of the finest uses of the nose in a coined/shaped search. In all search courses she finds directly the game, with certainty she points the game with a very high nose. The use of the nose captivates in each search course. When pointing on hares and pheasants the dog without influence from the leader shows absolute obedience. The field work corresponds to international requirements. Retrieving of the feather game from cover is correct. Nose 4h, Pointing 4h.

Water: The best water work in our group shows this female. The dog took to the water with passion and a high nose. She searched the water and the reed bank using always the best wind along the bank. She found the duck directly in the water. After harvesting the duck the dog brings the game perfectly and delivers correctly. A very convincing work. Result 4h.

Dagobert vom Hege-Haus was one of the main breeding dogs used by Mrs. Stramann. Rosemarie KS vom Hege-Haus successfully pasted her Derby, Solms, VGP, and the Kleemann examinations with all “4’s”. Rosemarie completed the Kleemann at 33 months of age. Atlanta vom Hege-Hof is from the first Hege-Hof litter after the DKV closed the Hege-Haus Zwinger name for a ten year period following the death of Mrs. Stramann.
